Bond Girl Friday - Eva Green

When it was announced that Daniel Craig would be taking over the role of James Bond with Casino Royale, many nerds were up in arms. Especially those that have way to much time on their hands and can create whole websites over the weekend to let people know how upset/virginal they are. I am, however, a nerd of a different feather. I saw Craig in Road to Perdition and (particularly) Layer Cake, and knew the part was in good hands. My concern was with Bond Girl Eva Green.

As Vesper Lynd, Green was inheriting a role that put much weight on her pasty little shoulders. Aside from Diana Rigg in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, she was set to be more-or-less the only Bond Girl you would ultimately give a shit about. So Green had to be good. And God Bless The Queen, she really was very good.

How important is the Vesper Lynd role? She kicks off the action in next week's new Bond movie Quantum of Solace, as the movie starts about an hour after the events of Casino. And she has a drink named after her. I haven't ever dated a girl with a drink named after her, have you?*

*Now I will probably be spending the rest of the weekend dusting off my former bartending skills and making up a drink I can name after The Girl.

There have been LOTS of drinks named after me, honey.

I like to think so, anyways. Humor me.

I can never think of anything to say on these posts except to express my overwhelm at your ridiculous artistic talents. Nicely done, McGone.

Awesome artwork, McGone!

The first time I saw Eva Green was in "The Dreamers". If you want to see more of her (much more), this movie will provide.

You even remembered the "McGone" tattoo she has in her armpit!

Seriously, nice work. As always.

They definitely got the right Bond girl for the franchise's reboot. Her hair looks perfect here, my friend. Who's next? Grace Jones? (Only if you want to scare your readers away.)

You should post about where and when you're attending Quantum next week. What's your Bond premiere ritual?

I will admit, when Craig walked out of the water in those trunks, he was quite dreamy.

Damn, you got some good art skills.

The trailers look great, and that's more than you can say for the Dalton era. I remember "The Living Daylights" ad making me think, "Maybe Bond isn't so cool after all."

I like Craig as Bond, but I don't actually find him attractive.

Come on, he's a ginger-haired wingnut!

Not sure how he managed to seduce Miss Lynd. She is pretty gorgeous, especially as a McGone artwork!

Excellent artwork, but I've yet to see a Bond movie all the way through.

But I did see "Road to Perdition" since it was filmed feet from my house and my wife loves Mr. Law. I found it mildly entertaining.

As I'd only seen her (albeit ALL of her) in "The Dreamers" I was wary too, but she rocked the Vesper Lind. I think Craig is a fantastic Bond, and especially loved the tension between the two of them, they played it remarkably well.

Even though Candy hints that you might already be a winner, I know better so I nominated you again in her funny comment contest.
